Ultrasound examination is available at each and every offices, which in most cases can be an important addition to urological examinations.
The urological ultrasonography is a specially targeted ultrasound examination, which focuses on the urinary organs.
Its target organs are the kidney, bladder, and - in the case of men - the prostate and testicles.
The ultrasound examination used specifically in urology is TRUS (TRansrectal UltraSound), which includes a high-resolution, complex prostate examination, rectal*.
*rectal: through the rectum
In some cases, a specialist ultrasound examination is a very useful additional examination to urological ultrasound examinations performed by a radiologist specialist, where ultrasound examination of other organs is also available, beyond the field of urology.
